Manual Handling – In the Workplace
Manual handling continues to be one of the primary causes of injury in the workplace, with about 1 in every three accidents falling into this category.
To comply with the 2007 Manual Handling Regulations, staff engaged in manual handling must be trained in the safe handling of loads.
Aims & Objectives
The aim of this Manual Handling Training Course is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and attitude to be able to lift and move loads in accordance with good manual handling techniques and to avoid risk of injury. On completion of the course participants will be able to:
- Understand the anatomy of the back and causes of common back injuries
- Understand the principles of safe manual handling
- Lift and handle loads safely
